Sept. 25, 2008, while driving home from the Escalante Plein Air Festival, I passed this scene near Hatch, Utah. I did not have time to stop and paint, but took several photos and this painting--just completed is the result of my memories there.
My goal is to capture the vibrant colors, changing light, and changing atmospheric conditions, in harmony with the changing weather--wind, sun, heat/or cold and bugs. The oil paintings are generally small and spontaneous. I thoroughly enjoyed the luxury of painting in the open air at all these wonderful sites. Giclee prints on canvas are available in several sizes.

What a nice spot you have captured. I like the personality of the trees & look at those darling sheep. They love the shade.
